Dirty Thirties Economy And How They Lived

It is now the great depression and very many people lost theyre jobs.Nobody has money because the companies overdid it and then they crashed. And because most people had lots of money on the stock market almost everybody lost most of their money they had put in.So now people have no money or jobs.People start to lose things they own because they cannot afford it.The dust bowl didnt help the farmers in the prairies because the farmers could barely afford to keep themselves alive let alone make money. The dust bowl killed all the plants a farmer has on his farm so they had to leave their farms and move to the city where they could get jobs and a home. The PM Robert Bennet helped us out by making every store who wanted employees to have a minimum wage and if you were unemployed you would get unemployment insurance.

The Roaring Twenties Women

Women didnt have very much freedom during the twenties until the Women's Rights movement came around.Women finally were considered "persons" and they could get their own jobs and got the right to vote. The women and children were not owned by the husbands anymore and they were not considered property anymore.Women were allowed to have part of the land the men owned instead of them owning it all.The reason women got to become people was from the 'persons case' there were 5 women who fought for this case their names are Henrietta Muir Edwards, Emily F. Murphy, Nellie L. McClung, Louise C. McKinney and Irene Parlby. They fought for women so they would be treated like people and not be owned by their husband and be treated like objects you can give off or control what it does.

The Roaring Twenties Shopping

The Twenties were great for shopping.Everyone had lots of money to spend because there was so many places to get jobs at.And the more money people spent they more the companies would have to expand then pay more employees to work for them.Everyone was happy because life was rich and booming during the 20s.So many new applianced were coming out which made life at home all that much easier like the dish washer, laundry machines, vaccum cleaners. And mostly everybody would buy these items by credit so people didnt have to buy the enitre thing at once so they only had to pay piece by piece at a time. This was very convinent if you couldnt afford something you needed at that time you could pay off a small portion of it and pay the rest later.

World War One What Children Did

Children did quite a bit during this war time.My 13 year old child snuck out of the house to go join the military.I cant believe the little kids that lived in my heighborhood went to sneak into the military to help us and die with us.So many children died because they snuck out of school, home just to join the military and would lie about their age just to help us out to win the war against our enemies.I do not understand why they would leave their simple lives to come fight and mos likely die at such a young age.It makes me happy to see how much kids care, but it hurts to see them die. Some of the children were very brave for being so young.Without them we neverwould of won.

World War One What Women Did

My wife was a big hand in the first world war.Her and her friends took up many male jobs for us, for example:they made us some ammunition and weapons so we could fight, they worked at the hospitals, they stayed at home and watched the kids, and many more things they did for us like worked as bank tellers, they got hired in gouverment departments, they drove the buses and conducted the trains, they unloaded coal and built ships, tanks, troop carriers, planes, they made hampers and socks for us.I was very surprised at all the things women did for us during that period. Finally during 1918 when world war 1 ended we came back and let the women take more jobs then they used to be because they helped us very much. They did great jobs on making our clothes and vehicles, they were great! Thanks to all the women who helped us during world war 1.
